Alimentaria FoodTech is the food-technology fair run by Fira de Barcelona at its Gran Via venue, in its 17th edition. It covers processing, preservation, ingredients and packaging technology for the agri-food industry, with refrigeration, freezing and cold-preservation equipment forming the temperature-controlled segment of the floor.
It sits at the food-manufacturing end where the cold chain begins - chilling, freezing and cold storage of product before it enters distribution - making it relevant to suppliers of refrigeration and cold-processing equipment serving Spanish and southern-European food producers. Cold chain is a segment within a broader processing show rather than its focus.
Food and beverage manufacturers, processing and packaging engineers and production managers on the buyer side; refrigeration, freezing, processing, ingredients and packaging vendors on the supply side. Attendance is Spain- and southern-Europe-centred, weighted to technical and production roles.
