The ColdChainer Briefing
SIAL Paris is the world's largest food-innovation trade fair, run biennially by Comexposium since 1964 and now in its seventh decade. The 2026 edition occupies all of Paris Nord Villepinte with roughly 7,500 exhibitors organised into ten product sectors spanning grocery, fresh produce, meat, seafood, dairy, beverages and food-processing solutions. It runs 17-21 October 2026, opening on a Saturday for the first time.
A large share of the floor -- fresh produce, chilled and frozen, meat, seafood and dairy -- depends entirely on temperature-controlled handling, so this is where perishables buyers, importers and their logistics and packaging suppliers meet and place orders on a two-year cycle. Reefer forwarders, cold-storage operators and temperature-controlled packaging vendors work the show even though there is no formal cold-chain track.
Attendees are retail and foodservice buyers, importers/exporters, distributors, food manufacturers and product developers, plus the logistics and packaging vendors that serve them. Seniority skews to category buyers, procurement and commercial directors, and SME founders sourcing distribution. It is a trade-only event drawing roughly 285,000 visitors from around 200 countries.
