The ColdChainer Briefing
The 16th International Donor Registry Conference runs alongside the WMDA Global Meetings from 16-19 March 2027 in Chennai, co-hosted by DATRI and Anthony Nolan. It is the first time IDRC has been held in the Asia-Pacific region since Singapore in 2016, in a region home to around 60% of the world's population.
Stem cell grafts are one of the most time-critical cross-border cold-chain movements there is: a product is collected from a donor in one country and must reach a specific patient in another within a narrow window, either fresh under controlled temperature or cryopreserved. Registry operations, courier networks and international transport rules are what make that possible, and this is the global forum where they are coordinated.
Donor registry staff and directors, transplant centre coordinators, cord blood bank representatives, WMDA member organisations and the couriers and logistics providers who move stem cell products internationally.
