The European Conference on Donor Health and Management (ECDHM) is a biennial meeting on the health, recruitment and management of blood, plasma, organ and stem-cell donors, held for its 7th edition in Rennes with France's Établissement français du sang. Its focus is donor care, safety, retention and the science of donation.
It sits upstream of the cold chain, on the donor side of the blood supply chain that ultimately feeds the temperature-controlled handling of blood and plasma. For the blood sector it is a relevant European fixture, though cold-chain and logistics content is limited and background to a donor-health agenda.
Blood-service and plasma-collection professionals, donor-health physicians and researchers, recruitment and donor-management specialists, mainly from European blood establishments. Attendance is European and clinical/operational, centred on the donation side rather than distribution.
