Macfrut is the annual fruit-and-vegetable supply-chain exhibition organised by Cesena Fiera, running its 44th edition in 2027. It spans the full chain across three areas -- Pre-Harvest, Post-Harvest and Healthy Food -- with roughly 1,400 exhibitors and international buyers drawn from more than 80 countries. The cold-chain-relevant content sits in the Post-Harvest area, which groups processing, packaging, refrigeration, logistics and sustainable storage suppliers.
The Post-Harvest hall is where fresh-produce cold-chain equipment is specified: pre-cooling, cold rooms, controlled-atmosphere storage, refrigerated handling and packaging lines. Packhouse operators and produce buyers use it to compare refrigeration and storage vendors and to line up logistics ahead of the season. It functions as a procurement floor rather than a standards or policy forum.
Attendees are fresh-produce professionals -- growers, packhouse and cooperative managers, importers and exporters, and category buyers from retail -- alongside technical staff from refrigeration, packaging and logistics suppliers. The buyer base is heavily international, with delegations from 80-plus countries. Cold-chain vendors exhibit; produce-side operators specify and buy.
